My Name is Marc Lescarbeau and you might say that I was destined to be in this business. You see my last name translates to "The Scar Beautiful" and that explains the name of the website.

I started my tattooing career in 1992 in Massachusetts. Tattooing was still illegal in that state back then so I decided to move to Arizona where I could tattoo without breaking the law. I worked in a couple of shops owned by drug addicts and finally got tired of being ripped off and not having what I needed to do the job right so I opened Body Art Tattoo Studio in January 1994 not caring if I ever worked with another tattoer again. It did not take long before I had more work than I could handle alone and hired another artist and that led to another and a move to a larger building. Before I knew it I had a staff and Body Art Tattoo Inc. was formed in order to protect my personal assets and family. I kept the shop until May 2007 when I sold the shop to Sage O'Connell, a friend and former employee, and his wife Liz so that I could move my children back to Massachusetts where I grew up. I am currently tattooing by appointment only for people that I know personally while I finish planning and building a new home. Once that task is complete I will most likely open another small shop and start all over again at some point but who knows now that I have a place to work locally. It might be nice not being the boss for once.
